Fantastic museum, I will most certainly be returning here. Very interesting for aviation fans like myself, so many things to see and learn. Observation deck is fantastic, great for viewing heavy departures/arrivals. Aircraft outside the museum are very interesting too, some aircraft still had moving yokes within the cockpit. Great experience. Awesome selection of model aircraft too, available to purchase.
This is a really nice aviation museum. It focuses primarily on civil aviation. It has flight simulators for kids and adults along with lots of Boeing747 related stuff. The are numerous observation decks and a restaurant. Probably the coolest thing for me are the general aviation aircraft outside. Relatively mundane airplanes in the US are in museum pedestals here. It's talky cool to see how excited people get about flying here.
A life size Boeing 747 and it's cockpit make this place special. Being able to touch and climb on a variety of small planes makes one understand what airplanes are and how they work - boxes of aluminum commanded by brave and adventurous people.
I strongly recommend this museum whether u are interested in airplanes! Children can also enjoy(^^)
A good place to spend the day if your flight is in the evening. Displays are mostly in Japanese, however. A sit down restaurant is on the 4th floor with typical Japanese fare. Had good views of landing aircraft while we were there. Buses bring you right to the museum from the airport, but poorly documented in English. Best to check at the airport information counter for details.
Actually quite a good day out for kids especially if the weather is good.
Lots of history in the aviation industry of Japan also paying homage to the beginnings of aviation and the first aeroplanes to be built. Lots to learn, it would be great if more of the content was explained in English, otherwise the fundamental info was in English, I wanted to learn more from the other displays and interractive ones that were mostly in Japanese. Great souvenirs too
A good place to take 1-2hrs if you pass by Narita airport. Hope the information in the museum can be more sufficient in detail for those who really have interest about aviation. Plus, the facility in the museum can be continuously renovated .
Good selection of outside aircraft and some cool things inside. Big 747 front end
Great place if you love aircraft. Especially great for children. A real learning center. Great for adults too.
